Hawaii State FCU Doubles Scholarship Funding To $80,000
HONOLULU — Hawaii State Federal Credit Union (Hawaii State FCU), Hawaii’s largest credit union lender with more than 106,000 members on Oahu and Maui, has issued a call for scholarship applicants for its Lowell Kalapa Scholarship Program for the 2019-2020 school year. Doubling its scholarship grant funding from $40,000 in 2018, Hawaii State FCU will award $80,000 to 20 deserving Hawaii students planning to attend a fully accredited university, college, or trade/vocational school. Each student will be awarded $4,000 each. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2019.

The Lowell Kalapa Scholarship is open to all Hawaii State FCU members and their dependents. There is a convenient online application, which requires a personal essay, two letters of recommendation, an official transcript, student aid report and a list of achievements and community service activities.
