December 19, 2016

HONOLULU — Hawaii State Federal Credit Union (Hawaii State FCU) has promoted David Kimura to vice president of Hawaii State Investment Services, a division of the credit union providing investment, retirement and financial planning services to members through CUSO Financial Services LP (CFS).* Kimura will continue to work closely with CFS’ financial advisors at Hawaii State FCU to drive growth and development of the investment program, which currently serves about 1,400 members at all nine branches on Oahu and Maui.

Kimura joined Hawaii State FCU in 2013 as the organization’s first investment program manager, and played a key role in developing the investment services division, which grew 185 percent under his leadership. In addition to managing a team of four advisors, Kimura consults with credit union members, providing investment advice, retirement planning, strategic asset allocation and guidance to help his clients reach their financial goals.

“David’s keen understanding of investment products and commitment to member service have shaped the philosophy of our investment program, leading to substantial growth,” said Andrew Rosen, president and CEO of Hawaii State FCU. “As a credit union, we believe it’s important for members to have a financial partner they can trust. David and his team will continue to fulfill that promise, providing sound and honest financial advice to help our members make smart financial decisions that can have positive impact leading up to their golden years.”

Kimura has extensive experience as a financial advisor and investment consultant, including 10 years at Central Pacific Bank, where he served as vice president of investments. He also held positions at Edward Jones Investments and PaineWebber (now UBS), and founded his own investment and risk management firm, Kimura Financial.

A graduate of the University of Oregon in Eugene, Ore., Kimura holds his FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses, as well as his life and health insurance license in the state of Hawaii. He and all other financial advisors at Hawaii State Investment Services are registered through CFS to provide financial advice, investment solutions, retirement planning and life insurance to members of Hawaii State FCU.
