Debit Cards Display Favorite Photos with New Customized Card Feature from Hawaii State FCU
HONOLULU — At Hawaii State Federal Credit Union, EMV chip debit cards are now being used as a canvas to display works of art. The credit union announced a new card feature, which allows members to personalize their cards with their own unique photo or image.
Any Hawaii State FCU debit cardholder can visit the Hawaii State FCU website for instructions on how to upload their favorite high-resolution photos of family, friends, pets or landscapes to create their new, custom card. For those who want to customize their card but do not have an image, they can choose one for free from the website gallery. Customization is free for a limited time for the first debit card.
“Members enjoy the ability to choose, customize and share their personality, especially when it comes to the items they use every day,” said Andrew Rosen, president and CEO of Hawaii State Federal Credit Union. “We’re excited to be the first local financial institution to offer customized EMV chip debit cards to our members, so they can show off their favorite photo of the people and things that matter most to them.”
Hawaii State FCU has established itself as a leader in Hawaii’s card services sector, winning an industry innovation award for being the first local financial institution to deploy EMV chip cards to its members in 2014. The credit union was the first in Hawaii to offer instant issue EMV debit cards, giving members access to their card on the same day they open their accounts; and the first to introduce mobile apps that provide security controls for debit and credit cardholders.
