Count the Ways We Give Back to Members

At Hawaii State FCU, our goal is simple: to treat our members fairly and like family, provide outstanding products and services, and offer the education and resources they need to help them make smarter financial decisions. Our members are the foundation of our credit union, and we love giving back to them whenever we can.

Better Rates, Lower Fees:

Because we’re a not-for-profit cooperative, we can focus on helping our members save more and earn more with better rates and lower fees. Unlike banks, we don’t have to worry about making profits for our shareholders.

Financial Education:

We put a heavy emphasis on financial wellness and education. In addition to free monthly webinars on topics ranging from budgeting to understanding credit, we also offer resources including online courses, our Wallet Wisdom blog, free financial calculators and more on our website. We also work with local schools to hold workshops and classes to promote a lifetime of financial literacy.

Free Financial Counseling:

Hawaii State FCU members can gain access to free counseling and financial wellness services through our collaboration with trusted national non-profit, GreenPath Financial Wellness. In addition to free educational webinars, GreenPath also offers debt management assistance, student loan counseling, and more.

Grants and Scholarships:

Through the Hawaii State FCU Scholarship Program, we have awarded more than $1 million to our members and their dependents to help defray the ever-increasing cost of higher education programs. We have also awarded more than $400,000 to Hawaii Department of Education public school classroom teachers to purchase much needed educational tools and supplies through our Investing in Education program.
