Count the Ways We Give Back to Members

We are proud to celebrate International Credit Union Day on October 19, 2017. Our goal has always been to serve and educate our members and our community. We realize that life will always have its ups and downs, both emotionally and financially.

Financial Education Programs

In order to provide information and guidance to assist our members in understanding different aspects of everyday finance, Hawaii State Federal Credit Union has created a financial education program. This program is a series of no-cost group seminars offering various financial education presentations for high schools, college students and adults.

FREE Money Management Credit Counseling

Another option to assist our members in reaching their financial goals is free and unlimited access to Money Management International (MMI).  MMI is the largest nonprofit, full-service credit counseling agency in the nation. They provide confidential financial guidance, financial education, counseling and debt management assistance to people from all walks of life.

These are just some of the free services they offer to our members:

  • Budget and debt counseling
  • Credit report review
  • Debt management plans
  • Student loan counseling
  • Foreclosure prevention
  • Pre-purchase housing counseling

Grants and Scholarships

Our Lowell Kalapa Scholarship annually provides $30,000 to our members and their families to help defray the ever increasing college expenses.

Since 2009 we have been providing Department of Education classroom teachers with the Investing in Education Grant program, which helps them obtain much-needed supplies and basic necessities for their classroom.

Additional Benefits

We also have a monthly Wallet Wisdom Wednesdays blog available on our website that provides tips and articles to help members make good financial decisions with their hard earned money.

Hawaii State FCU is a partner of Friends of the Library of Hawaii in an effort to focus on financial literacy. Our members can take advantage of a special preview night at the much anticipated annual book sale at McKinley High School. We also host pop-up book stores at our Main and Alii Branches for your convenience.

Please feel free to take advantage of any of these benefits that can help you and your family attain your financial goals. Hawaii State Federal Credit Union is your partner, and we are proud to be “always right by you.”
